England Tour
ANNUAL ENGLAND TOUR
Every Easter week, TFA offers the opportunity to our U16 teams (and older) to tour England. The tour includes playing games vs. local teams, including professional and semi professional Academy teams. We attend an English Premier League (EPL) game, as well as other professional and semi professional games. We watch EPL teams train close up and we tour their stadiums.
Sightseeing includes touring London and seeing the sights of Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, The Tower of London and The London Eye (one of the biggest Ferris wheels in the world). We stay in local hotel accommodations that show the beauty of the countryside and the city. Each player writes a journal of his daily experiences, incorporating his soccer activities and feelings. Each player then reads his personal journal before his teammates in the evening. This is a great “bonding” experience for all the members of the trip, and one that increases players’ thoughtfulness and self-examination.
Parents are welcome to attend this trip; it really is a vacation for all to experience. There are no responsibilities for the parents as the Director of Coaching, his staff and the tour operator takes care of all the day-to-day details. Parents contribute with their presence and enthusiasm.
This trip is optional and above the regular TFA fees for the regular season/year.
This is a trip of a lifetime, one that the player will never, ever forget. It will not only enhance his game (both on and off the field), but his maturity level and understanding of a different culture. His passion for the sport will run through his veins for the rest of his life.
Please read some of the previous trips’ blogs and daily journal entries. They are ‘must read’ material for any parent/player planning to attend the tour…
